How to beat dull winter skin

Simple but effective cleansers are a must because I’m not willing to take any chances when it comes to my skin. Perfect to eliminate impurities and pollutants, the Chanel Anti-pollution invigorating toner and the Foaming Gel Cleanser leave the skin perfectly cleansed and purified while maintaining its balance.

Finding the right skincare products for your skin type can not only be difficult but also quite expensive at times. Investing in the right products, however, would definitely help you long term as it would not only allow you to maintain the appearance of your skin but it would also boost your confidence. I have previously written a blog post about my favourite skincare products that help me fight the harsh winter weather and keep my skin in check during the colder months. Having a perfect canvas for your makeup during the day or serums at night starts with a blank canvas. I believe that most of us tend to invest more money in serums and moisturizers. However, without having a squeaky clean canvas to apply your night repair treatments, wasting your hard-earned money on all those beauty elixirs is practically pointless.

This was when my obsession with Chanel cleansers was born. On those days, when you are out and about in the city, your skin is constantly exposed to the elements which can have a detrimental effect on your skin. Using products that help you eliminate pollutants is an essential step in ensuring your skin is refreshed and comforted day after day.

Le Tonique Anti-pollution Invigorating Toner

Le Tonique by Chanel is a blend of two marine plant extracts which is aimed at “combating pollution while preserving the skin’s essential rhythms”. The first extract at the heart of this product is the blue micro-algae which claims to protect cells from micro-stress caused by pollution. By combining those properties with the moisturizing and strengthening characteristics of the marine Salicornia extract, Le Tonique
gently soothes and refreshes the skin. An added benefit of the Le Tonique by Chanel is its alcohol-free texture. I love using it at night as part of my night time routine which usually involves a double or triple cleanse depending on my schedule that day. If I have had a busy day in the city, I would definitely use it before applying my serum of choice. In the morning, I tend to use it before applying moisturizer and makeup. Le Tonique by Chanel is one of those products

Gel Purete Rinse-off Foaming Gel Cleanser Purity + Pollution

Chanel Gel Purete rinse-off foaming gel cleanser has definitely been one of those products that you could see visible results from a day after using it. It claims to eliminate excess sebum, impurities and pollutants from combination to oily skin with a precious tulip tree extract. I can confirm that it certainly lives up to those claims. I use about two pumps of product. The gel purete transforms into a rich, easy-to-rinse foam on contact with water. That allows you to apply the product in upwards circular motions, leaving the skin perfectly cleansed and purified. I do find the gel quite stripping for everyday use so instead, I tend to use it on those days when I need to give my skin that extra oomph. Applying the Le Tonique after using the gel cleanser, however, gives my skin back some moisture and ensures that my skin is prepped for my favourite serums and moisturizers.
