5 lessons of 2017

That’s probably the most cliche phrase ever but I just can’t believe that it is 2018 already – time flies by so quickly doesn’t it. I feel like most of us are so caught up in work commitments and life in general that we rarely have the time to reflect on our experiences throughout the year. Things happen for a reason and even though you might not have achieved what you have hoped for during 2017, now it’s the time for you to set yourself goals for the new year and reflect on what you have learned in the past.

Life is precious

Appreciate the little things. Gratitude is so overlooked at times and a lot of people can’t see the beauty in life. There is nothing more annoying than someone who constantly complains and doesn’t see the beauty around us. I wake up every day and I look up at the sky and I immediately feel so overwhelmed and grateful to be alive!

Listen before you talk

Nowadays people use and abuse their rights to be listened to, so and such that they forget to listen to what other people have to say. Let’s face it, that can be difficult at times, but by giving others the chance to share their opinion, not only you show others respect but also it gives you the opportunity to learn more about that person. I have become so much better at that in the past couple of years but now I have focused my attention on showing others the importance that can have on their relationships with people and the way they are being perceived.

Positivity attracts positivity

I have to admit that I feel so much happier since I started looking for the positive in every situation – no matter how great or terrible it’s been. We are all battling through our own difficulties in life and sometimes it might be easier to pour out your heart and share your pessimism and discouragement with the rest of the world. Let’s be honest with each other – that does not change your circumstances to the better or improve your relationships with those around you in any shape or form. Positivity, on the other hand, is so contagious. On some days that might be easier said than done, but it is definitely not impossible and after a while, it becomes a habit. Once you start living in a positive manner, that is when the real transformation starts in your life.

1 year = 365 opportunities

Every day brings you new opportunities and quite often we tend to overlook those as we are focused on something else. Guess what?! Things happen for a reason and if a new opportunity comes your way you shouldn’t ignore it. Take advantage of every prospect that might benefit your life in one way or another. There is a huge possibility that you might learn a valuable lesson if you gather the courage to step out of your comfort zone for once and live life a little differently. What are the odds that tomorrow might be the day that your life changes for the better without you even expecting it? If you want something from life, just go and get it – nobody is going to come knocking on your door if you are not willing to put yourself out there.

It’s ok to say No

It’s ok to be selfish at times and think about yourself first instead of focusing on helping others. Despite the fact that judging those around us is ingrained in human nature, sometimes you just have to take a step back and think about what’s really important to you. As with everything in life, you have to strike the right balance between working on your self-development and helping others. Time is so precious and you owe yourself the luxury to focus on your priorities, so you shouldn’t feel guilty for saying No.

Happy New Year

Wish you all the best in 2018! Go out there and make your dreams come true

Yours Truly,

Tanya
